A unique College with an eternal vision.

The name Carmichael College is taken from the missionary, Amy Carmichael, who devoted her life to improving the lives of orphans and temple children in India. Through her great faith in God, she and her fellow missionaries built education and health facilities to meet the needs of the children. Most importantly she shared with the children the love of Jesus.

Our staff also view their role here as a ministry. Ensuring a safe, nurturing and supportive environment is key to our students learning, developing and exceeding their own expectations. I am reminded of the verse in Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

I extend a warm invitation to you to read through our site and discover a little more about Carmichael College.

Yours in Christ,

Margot Pinel

Miss Amy Carmichael
(1867 – 1951)

Miss Amy Carmichael was born in Millisle, Northern Ireland, where she initially worked with the poor mill-working women. Amy wanted to dedicate her life to serving God by sharing the Good News about the Lord Jesus Christ. First she worked in a mission in Japan, but in the mid 1890s, she begun her work at Dohnavur in southern India. In 1901 she opened an orphanage to care for girls rescued from temple slavery. The Indian Government made this practice illegal in 1948. She remained there for 56 years never returning home again. The Dohnavur Fellowship continues today, now supporting approximately 500 people on 400 acres with 16 nurseries and a hospital.

To enrich minds through excellent education, transform hearts for Christ, and serve in our Community.

This is articulated through our three Vision Statements:

Educating our students for life in the world and eternity.

  • Encouraging students to know God in order to live as disciples of Jesus Christ

  • Enabling students to identify God-given abilities and equip them to use those gifts

  • Expecting students to engage in rigorous educational programs

  • Equipping students to become servant leaders who transform culture for God’s glory

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8 (NIV)

Our classrooms must reflect God’s righteousness; protect the powerless from the powerful; and be fair and consistent.

Love & Mercy

Mercy, grace and forgiveness are central to the heart of God, and therefore to the heart of our classrooms.

Humility & Obedience

God desires a heart that wants to serve Him. A humble walk requires worship and service to God and to all people.

Carmichael College’s establishment began in 2002 with the land being purchased. With great vision and rigorous planning we opened in 2015 as a primary campus, and then as a secondary campus in 2020 with our very first intake of year seven. We are committed to seeing this cohort through to completion, expanding each year to become a Prep to Year 12 College by 2025.

We are a dynamic school in its infancy in growth. Our Masterplan outlines a strategic and logical construction of new buildings and facilities as the population increases, ensuring we continue to implement an environment where students can excel.

Get to know our team of caring staff and teachers.  Everyone is committed to providing a strong Christian education.

We believe the Bible as originally given by God is divinely inspired and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We encourage families who are supportive of the College ethos to apply to join the College.
