Volunteering Opportunities
Serving alongside our College community is a meaningful way to support our students and contribute to the life of Carmichael College. There are so many areas where you can help. Register your interest below, and we’ll let you know when volunteer opportunities become available throughout the year.
Important: All volunteer applications are subject to approval. You will be notified once your application has been reviewed and approved. Approval to volunteer is valid for the academic year in which the application is completed and approved. A new application will be required for subsequent years.
At Carmichael College, the safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority. To support the latest child safety legislation and our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing, we have updated our volunteer requirements. These changes include Blue Card requirements, annual volunteer induction, and sign-in procedures for all visitors and volunteers on campus. All volunteers are required to:
- Hold and maintain a valid Queensland Blue Card where applicable.

Understand and follow the College’s Reporting Concern of Harm and Abuse Policy, Parent Code of Conduct, Emergency Management Procedure, Incident and Hazard Reporting Policy. .
- Complete the annual Volunteer Induction and required child safety training before commencing volunteer activities.

Blue Card Requirements
At Carmichael College, the safety and wellbeing of our students is at the heart of everything we do. As part of our commitment to providing a safe learning environment, all volunteers are required to hold a valid Queensland Blue Card before undertaking any volunteer activities at the College.
Yes. Anyone volunteering at Carmichael College must hold a current, valid Blue Card that is linked to the College before they begin volunteering.

Volunteer Sign-In Procedures
At Carmichael College, the safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority. To help us maintain a secure campus environment, all volunteers are required to follow the College sign-in and identification procedures each time they assist on campus.
- Please report to Reception when you arrive on campus.
- Sign in using the visitor management system.
- You will be provided with a volunteer name badge and lanyard, which must be worn and clearly visible while you are volunteering.
- Please bring your current Blue Card with you on your first visit.
- Reception will complete your volunteer registration in the sign-in system.
- Your Blue Card details will be recorded to ensure your volunteer requirements are up to date.
- Use the quick sign-in option available at Reception.
- Follow the prompts to confirm your details and sign in for each visit.
- When you have finished volunteering, please return to Reception to sign out.
- Return your volunteer name badge and lanyard before leaving the College grounds.
